Chimney installation and WETT Inspection in Waubaushene yesterday by http://rawchimney.com . Nice day, a little cool, but to be expected in mid-November. Had a couple of other Chimney Sweeps in Tay Township afterwards. Chimney was a factory built purchased by homeowner - Selkirk Supervent. Good chimney - but not as light and nice to work with as the UltimateONE. Had to put a support on chimney as well as is 7.5 feet above the roof - remember any chimney over 60 inches needs support to be code compliant. Wood stove was a nice little Pacific Energy purchased in Midland and inside pipe was double wall - which homeowner had installed themselves. Couple of minor items on the install which I fixed while I was there - the reason you hire a Chimney Sweep for the WETT Inspection!! It is not about finding the problems but also fixing them at the same time - after all you want a compliant report and not something your insurance company will reject! Book today at RAW Chimney Sweep and Inspections. http://rawchimney.com/schedule-inspection-sweep/

Stove Installation Yesterday Tiny Beaches - between Lafontaine Beach and Georgian Sands Beach. Did Chimney Sweep and WETT Inspection as well. Started sweeping on family farm in Quebec in late 1960's or very early 1970's. Both sweeping and the components used in installation have come a long way - I generally use Selkirk pipes - double wall stove pipe (flue pipe) and the UltimateONE chimney with 1 inch walls. Makes for a very clean and nice looking installation. Because I do not sell stoves - I will install those purchased elsewhere - assuming they are in good working condition and can be properly installed in a code compliant manner.

Chimney Cleaning or Chimney Sweeping in Tiny Township for the most part yesterday - one European pellet furnace to clean as well - quite a bit of fly ash in that one but all clean now. One nest to remove from a factory built chimney late yesterday afternoon in Midland. Interesting stove - first of that model I had worked on and metal that holds baffle in place was a bit tricky to extract - once you know the trick is not too bad and went back in place easily. Best to have a spark arrestor in place to keep the squirrels out!
