How do you find a good or the right chimney sweep? Had a caller ask me this today! Apparently some had been telling them that there were NO other Chimney Sweeps around. Well look for a WETT Certified Chimney Sweep or even better a WETT Certified Advanced Chimney Sweep. Do they have a chimney camera? A real dedicated chimney camera? Not an essential tool for cleaning some chimneys - but a good tool to ensure the chimney is in good condition and absolutely necessary to do a decent Level 2 or 3 inspection. Some use cheap cameras which work with laptops and not real chimney cameras. Do they have credentials? A Comprehensive Inspector is a good addition - ensuring the highest level of inspection ability. Do they have Certified Chimney Sweep with WETT and with the NCSG/CSIA? Do they have Certified Technician credentials - meaning they also are certified to install? While credentials are not everything they do go a long way and you are safer with them than without? Do they have insurance? Yes Insurance! Not all do.. Do they do this full time!! If not best to look elsewhere and be safe. There are few Chimney Sweeps out there and even fewer good ones. Be safe .. call me if you have questions and don't take a chance.

We have had a LOT of snow over the past week in the Midland and Penetanguishene area! Take your time clearing it away - it is HARD work! Then sit back and keep warm by the wood fire!
