It is with great sadness that the MCC announces the sudden passing of M. Nugent Schneider on December 30, 2019. Mr. Schneider was the Founder and Chair of the Board of VESTCAP INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT, the sponsors of the Vestcap Jazz Series" at the MCC. Mr. Schneider was a long time friend of our MCC Founder, Reinhart Weber. Mr. Schneider is survived by Dawn, his wife of 55 years, and his three children and four grandchildren. His career spanned over 50 years in the investment industry. His clients were his friends, which is why he never saw the need to retire. He was blessed in that he truly loved what he did.
Mr. Schneider's father was a part time professional musician who instilled the love of music in his son, Nugent, at a very early age. Since he loved jazz and big band music, Mr. Schneider was instrumental in Vestcap agreeing to sponsor the MCC Jazz Series named in the company's honour. All who loved him will never forget his sharp wit and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
The Midland Cultural Centre will be closed on Monday October 14th for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday October 15th. Thank you and have a wonderful holiday.
