The Mouse Trap opened it's doors in Downtown Midland on December 3rd, 2022. This much anticipated shop, located at 258 King Street, was created by owners Sarah & Steve and their love of cheese. This welcoming shop has displays of everything to compliment their main product. From crackers and biscuits, to jars of jellies and seasonings, plus more to build your pantry. To prepare and present, they also have charcuterie boards, fondue sets, raclette melters, and yes, more! Further into the shop there are fridges to one side that are stocked with in-store packaged cheeses, pre-made meals, soups and pizzas. However the main feature of The Mouse Trap is the cheese display case. There you will find a variety of different shapes, sizes, colours, and flavours of cheese. It is a selection that continues to grow while offering mainstays and a rotating inventory. They also welcome suggestions from their many returning customers. One of the most recent shops in Downtown Midland is the Capnip Dispensary Inc., owned and operated by Mikey 5Bucks. It is a business that has received national attention from a popular appearance on CBC's Dragons Den. Located at 317 King Street in Downtown Midland, the Catnip Dispensary boasts a colourful display of posters that are based on the product packaging. On the shelves are jars of organic, wild, and in-house grown strains. From herbs to essential oils, studied research has been done to create natural products that promise to help in your cat's behaviour; from anxiety, overgrooming, late night zoomies, to promoting exercise. Plus, find fun things here, such as a growing inventory of cat outfits and accessories, and themed stickers from the retro sticker machine! It should also be noted that Mikey's passion for animal wellness extends to the Midland OSPCA, where he accepts donations for the organization and offers his knowledge to help displaced cats feel more at ease.
