About Us
When it comes to service, Meatland is a cut above. This family owned and operated business was established in 1959 and has since grown from a strictly retail store to include a wholesale business which now accounts for 70 per cent of Meatland’s sales. A fleet of three trucks make deliveries to various restaurants, hospitals and nursing homes within a 50 kilometer radius of Midland.
Customers visiting the store for the first time are often surprised to find the store carries a full line of groceries, from canned goods, prepared foods and baking needs to an assortment of paper products. Meatland understands that the success of the business is largely due to the commitment and dedication of its staff to continuously extend friendly personalized service.
At Meatland there is always a butcher on duty ensuring that it is never a problem to have meat custom cut or ask for cooking tips, such as which cut is best for the barbecue. Meatland’s beef is air hung and aged for a minimum of 14 to 21 days. This guarantees tenderness and flavor that is second to none in the area. Unlike other stores, the meat at Meatland is displayed inside a full service meat counter. It is unwrapped, which means customers choose the cut and quantity they want, not the prepackaged portions available in the meat section of most major grocery chains. Boxed meats are also available, offering retail customers the same value and quantities usually reserved for wholesale customers. Steaks, Burgers, sausage and jumbo hot dogs are popular items for those who enjoy firing up the barbecue.
Shopping at Meatland won’t blow your budget either! “We compare prices and we are certainly competitive in all areas of our business", explains Kurt Noack (President).
Plus Meatland offers free delivery of orders over $50 for customers in the Midland - Penetanguishene area who have a hard time getting out of the store, including seniors and parents with small children.
