About Us

Naturopathic Doctors integrate scientific knowledge with traditional and natural forms of medicine to treat a wide range of acute and chronic physical and psychological health concerns. Using safe, gentle and non-invasive approaches, a Naturopathic Doctor focuses on using the healing power of nature to stimulate and support the body’s own healing ability.

Naturopathic Doctors complete studies similar to a conventional medical doctor, including studying medical sciences and completing a clinical internship. In addition, they are trained in potential drug-nutrient-herb interactions. Naturopathic Doctors have a minimum of 7 years post secondary and are licensed professionals in natural health care.

Using an individualized approach, Naturopathic Doctors utilise modalities including nutritional medicine, botanical medicine, homeopathic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine/acupuncture and lifestyle counselling to maintain, improve and optimize your health.

Prior to graduating from The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), I obtained my Honours Psychology degree from Huron University College, The University of Western Ontario. In addition, I completed a M.Ed (Counselling Psychology) from The University of Western Ontario. On completion of CCNM, I passed the professional Naturopathic Physicians Licensing Exams (NPLEX) administered by the North American Board of Examiners and provincial examinations before establishing a private practice.

In addition, I am a member in good standing with the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).

I feel privileged to be a Naturopathic Doctor. As a Naturopathic Doctor, I am able to take the time to work closely with patients as we consider the body, mind and spirit and work towards optimizing your health and healing.

I look forward to working with you on your health journey,

Yours in Health,

Sharon E. Hannaford Whitmore, B.A (Honours Psych), M.Ed (Counselling Psych), ND
