HOW TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE COMPLIANT WITH THE NEW WORKING AT HEIGHT EXTENSION TO OCTOBER 1, 2017
The October 1st extension applies only when two factors are present:
1) All candidates requiring the fall protection training have a valid certificate in a Fall Protection Basics course, and can show this to an inspector;
2) Proof of registration and payment for Working At Heights training (Receipt must include each workers’ full name). Each worker must have a copy of this or a copy must be present on site to show an inspector if needed.
Therefore, if the candidates did not have prior fall protection training, have lost their proof of training, or if they haven’t registered and paid for a course and received a receipt with their name on it – then they are non-compliant with the regulations.
If you would like a copy of the memorandum provided to CPO-Approved Working At Heights Providers such as the IHSA program offered at First For Safety - please email our Training Coordinator: Jennifer Watson jennifer@firstforsafety.ca
