Warts

Description

Warts are skin growths that can occur anywhere on the body but they most commonly occur on the soles of your feet. Warts are caused by a virus which enters your body through tiny cuts, breaks or other vulnerable sites on the skin of your feet. You can get a wart from walking barefoot on any surface shared by another person with a wart. Common places to get a wart: a shower floor, in a hotel room or at the pool.

Some warts are painful and some are not. Warts that develop beneath pressure points in your feet, such as the heels or balls of your feet, can be painful. This pressure also may cause a wart to grow inward beneath a hard, thick layer of skin (callus).
