Heel Pain (Plantar Fasciitis)
Description
PLANTAR FASCITIS
Heel pain is one of the most common types of foot pain. It is a problem that chiropodists treat every day. We treat heel pain comfortably and effectively.
Heel pain can happen suddenly, or increase gradually over time. It can be as its worst in the morning when getting out of bed, or can be at its worst in the afternoon after a long day on your feet (not to mention a constant pain throughout the day). Despite when it is at its worse, heel pain usually happens for one of two reasons: an injury (like landing very hard on your heel) OR a repetitive overuse injury. The average person takes 10,000 steps a day. Multiply that by 365 days in a year...that equals 3.65 million steps a year! Talk about repetition! And, what if you have a small variation in the way you take a footstep that is not quite optimal? That would make you take 3.65 MILLION steps a year in a less then optimal position. As time goes on (and your age) all of this can lead to injury of the tissues that are attached to your heel bone or the heel bone itself. The longer the problem is left unattended, the worse it will get.
