Village Square Mall
Totally hate mall since they changed the design. It used to be a wonderful place for seniors to meet and have coffee or lunch. The restaurant was always full.It was a great place in the winter for seniors to walk around and get exercise while doing all round shopping without going outside. Now,I only go there to get specifically what I need ,and leave. I believe they took away one of the few things Penetanguishene had going for it.I have spoken to a lot of people and many agree with me.
The Business Owner Replied:
Brenda: I am terribly sorry that you feel that way, and yes, I have heard these comments before. Before we changed the mall, we had several empty units. Yes, you could walk through the mall, yet there was nowhere to shop. Expanding the Pharmacy and adding the Hardware has given the community a mall that they can shop at and has continued our effort to make our mall a one stop shopping center. Although this was not the ideal solution, it has allowed us to attract tenants, such as the Mega Dollar, which now occupies the once vacant Bargain Shop. We now have automatic door operators at all mall entrances which will allow those with disabilties better access to the businesses and services with our mall. As well, we have recently finished renovations to our public washrooms such that they meet accessibility standards. Is it perfect, likely not, but we are still here providing much needed businesses and services to our community. Dale Forget, Manager
