Zuba-Central
Description
We put our best minds and technologies to the test when we created Zuba-Central. And they didn’t disappoint. From energy-saving features like VCSI technology to powerhouse performance features like our Hyper-Heat Inverter (H2i) technology, Zuba-Central is packed with so many advancements that we have no reservations in calling it the true evolution in whole-home, year-round comfort.
A traditional heating and cooling system used to mean inefficient gas furnaces, baseboard heaters, and bulky air conditioners. Or worse still, messy and expensive oil- based systems. They’re all noisy, lack in performance, and, by the very nature of their design, cost a lot to operate.
Mitsubishi Electric has always been on the cutting edge of heating and cooling technology. Not to mention money- saving, space-saving, quiet and earth- friendly. Now with Zuba-Central, we’ve made it possible to introduce the superior benefits and technology of a Mitsubishi Electric system into your new or existing duct work. The difference is simply amazing.
The secret behind Zuba-Central’s high-heating performance, even under extremely low outdoor temperatures, is our exclusive Hyper-Heat Inverter (H2i) technology. It maximizes the benefits and efficiencies you can get from a heat pump. Even when outdoor temperatures drop to extremes – levels that would give traditional heat pump systems a cold chill – Zuba-Central stays on the job, keeping the indoors at a comfortable and consistent level.
Conventional heat pumps generally do not perform well when the outdoor temperature drops below 0°C. This is because the compressor in conventional heat pumps easily overheats while operating in low outdoor temperatures. Under such conditions, the compressor suction pressure drops significantly and the refrigerant mass flow rate reduces due to its thermal properties, which in turn diminishes the system’s heating capacity. In order to regain the system’s heating capacity, the compressor runs at a much higher speed to boost the discharge pressure back to a normal level, thus overheating the compressor.
Zuba-Central, on the other hand, overcomes this common issue with its H2i technology, and at the heart of that is the Flash Injection Circuit. The Flash Injection Circuit increases the heating capacity of the system while maintaining a high compressor discharge pressure without overheating, even when outdoor temperatures are well below 0°C.
The Flash Injection Circuit is a patent-pending technology, which consists of a Heat Interchanger (HIC) and a compressor equipped with an injection port. It works by allowing for a portion of two-phase refrigerant (gas-liquid) to bypass the outdoor coil, and recollect heat energy at the Heat Interchanger (HIC) that is normally rejected during the flash process in the outdoor unit. The Flash Injection Circuit then injects the energized two-phase refrigerant at a lower temperature into the compressor through the injection port during the compression process. This reduces the temperature inside the compression chamber, allowing the compressor to run at higher speeds to offset the effect of low suction pressure and the low refrigerant mass flow rate.
As a result, Zuba-Central is able to maintain a high heating capacity and achieve higher performances without being affected by the cold.
Our advanced Variable Compressor Speed Inverter (VCSI) Technology provides exceptional high-speed heating and cooling performance, energy-efficient operation, and most importantly, the experience of unmatched comfort.
Conventional compressors work on cycles where the system starts up and stays at a fixed speed until it overshoots the set temperature, and then stops until the next cycle begins. This on-off cycle causes unnecessary energy spikes and also consumes high amounts of energy, regardless of the actual requirement, as the system is always producing the maximum amount of cooling or heating even when the demand is low. This results in a tremendous amount of wasted energy and uncomfortable energy fluctuations.
When a VCSI compressor initially starts up, it runs at a higher speed in order to reach the set temperature in a shorter period of time. Once the set temperature is met, the compressor slows down and automatically adjusts to the exact speed required to maintain the set temperature by detecting the subtle changes in the environment. The result is clear: less temperature variation and more efficient operation. This strategic "fast-slow" operation allows for less energy consumption as it minimizes the duration for which the compressor needs to run at high speed. Since the compressor dynamically reacts to maintain the exact cooling or heating needs under lower speeds, a minimum amount of energy is used and a more consistent temperature is maintained.
