My girlfriend and I stayed at the Inn at Christies Mill for a girlfriends getaway. The place was lovely and the staff amazing. We had a great weekend. Ate at the Inn for breakfast both days and the food was great and service too. The only complaint we had was there was nothing outdoors to do unless you play tennis. I realize that the Inn changed ownership and reopened last November so they are still in the middle of setting things up I'm sure but at the front desk I suggested that they have paddle boats, Canoes and Kayaks provided by the resort even if you had to rent them. They definitely need something to do outdoors and the lake there is so beautiful. All in all we both had a good time and took lots of walks.

My daughter was so excited about her wedding that was booked at The Inn at Christies Mills for this coming summer. She paid the deposit as required; bought the decorations she wanted for the ceremony and reception, ordered and sent the invitations. She had friends ready to book slips to come by boat for the celebration and a local DJ booked. When she tried to contact them to make payments over the winter, calls were not returned, emails went unanswered. As time progressed the voice mail box was full. Emails still went unanswered. Professional organizations of which this Inn is a member suggested that she find another venue. Another supplier to her wedding, local to Port Severn suggested that she find another venue as two other weddings had chosen to do the same due to the lack of any kind on communications from the Inn at Christies Mills. A week after my daughter secured a spot at the Blue Mountain Resort for the same time on the same date 6 weeks prior to her wedding. I was contacted by The Inn at Christies Mills. She was contacted over a week later. Blue Mountain was awesome. They have a great facility allowing more guests. I have been in communications with the management at Christies Mills (finally) and they are willing to do absolutely nothing with respect to refunding any of the initial deposit. Her deposit is lost along with the additional cost of resend invitations, rebooking other services etc.. I have been in the lodging industry for the last 27 years, what I have experienced and observed over the last four months is definitely not reflective of a well run facility. They will not return calls or emails and when you do get someone on the phone they will not provide any path to escalate issues. This is a very frustrating facility to deal with! I will be very surprised if they are able to retain any of the affiliations they represent on their (previous owners) website. Anybody with enough money can buy a pretty piece of real-estate, but not anybody can run one of Ontario Finest Inns. The new owners have proven this in spades. If you are looking for a picturesque place for a special event or just get away for a week or a weekend I would strongly recommend Blue Mountain Resort. There staff are professional and know their business. I have always wanted to take my wife to Christies Mills for a weekend get away, guaranteed, that will never happen!

So I am not alone in my frustration! The GM has refused to provide me with the owner's contact information so that I can escalate my complaint !! I have now filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. These practices are unacceptable!!

I recently attended a Christmas party at the Inn at Christie's Mill, and it was absolutely amazing! Their staff was friendly and accommodating, the food was delicious, the spa was gorgeous and the entire hotel and grounds were immaculate. I can't wait to make a return visit :)
