I am a kichi camper ive gone in 2011 and now 2012 and altought i signed up in november i couldent wait well i still cant wait it changes your life forever!!!! NO i didnt miss my mom dad siter or brother i was there for 2 weeks no family not knowing any one but one day after going i had a new family the family of T3....... sooo try kichi it will change your life if you like wilderness like: birds,bears,snakes and water this is 100000000% for you ps we ran in to the snake 2 times and a bear 1 time well we were hiking in the forst so yeah thats some kichi for u just about 1% of it come out here and try u will like it

I am a former Kitchi camper, councellor and staff member (Canoe tripper). I was there back in the 60's. Times have definately changed since then. In the junior section, the morning wash was in the back bay and clothing was optional as it was in the senior section in front of the "Boat house" The intermediate section had their morning swim at the main dock and clothing was required there. Junior campers took over the camp for one day every year all decked out in loin clothes and war paint for Indian Day. At that evenings campfire, the legion of Kitchikewana was told to the campers. It is part of an old Huron Indian story. I remember one year that we did this. There were 5 canoes involved and we paddled around Chapel Point into the bay for the junior camp. The canoes were weighted with stones so that they would sink below the surface when required. All five canoes had 1 paddler except the center one that had two passengers. A paddler and a person representing Kitchikewana. Each canoe had a burning torch in the bow. After telling the legend, all five canoes would back out from the shore and would then submerge into the water starting from the outside into the middle, until all disappeared, extingushing the torch in the process Many of the camp songs are still partialy remembered but some of the words have become lost. However the music still continues . I'm a Kitchi born, I'm a Kitchi bred and when I die I'm a Kitchi dead. So it's RAH RAH Kewana Wana. Sis Boom Bah!!!! I was, I am and I always will be A Kitchi Camper. They were some of the greatest days of my life. Thanks to Smitty and Marmy

My boys have been going to Kitchi for years now along with my nieces. They absolutely love it !! The activities are fun and they never stop talking all year long about the fun they have in that 2 weeks. The counsellors are great and my eldest niece now wants to be a counsellor. My brother went to Kitchi in grade 4 - that was over 30 years ago - and it is still a great place - updated of course. Every safety precaution is taken to ensure campers are safe and sound. I never worry about them there and my husband and I enjoy our 2 week mini vacation every year. Well worth the money spent.
